  • Classroom Based: $200 per Unit of Competency
  • Workplace Based (Flexible): $300 per Unit of Competency - Government funding available for the full qualification under the User Choice 2010-2015 Program (subject to candidate eligibility). The prices above are quoted per unit of competency. Payment plans are available. Additional fees may apply for training and assessment occurring at more than 200km away from Brisbane CBD such as travel and accommodation costs. These will be calculated according to the location and indicated before to enrolment. New England College of Technology will strive to keep these costs at their minimum.

The nominal duration to complete qualification is 36-48 months fulltime. If you are completing your qualification on a part time or as a School based student (SAT) then the nominal period of 96 months will apply. As this training is competency based, completion dates can vary from student to student however will not exceed the nominal duration


After achieving AUR32512 Certificate III in Automotive Underbody Technology, candidates may undertake further training in AUR40212 Certificate IV in Automotive Mechanical Diagnosis, AUR40812 Certificate IV in Automotive Mechanical Overhauling or other relevant qualifications.


Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) is a process through which a candidate may be granted recognition or partial recognition towards a formal qualification. The recognition occurs through demonstration of skills and knowledge gained through paid or unpaid work and general life experience. Candidates who believe might have gained skills through any of these methods are encouraged to contact our RPL Officers and enquire on the qualification options, admission and assessment process. In most cases the RPL process will cost less than formal training.

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) is the assessment process for recognizing competencies gained through previous learning, work and life experiences. Students need to apply for RPL before their enrolment.
In order to be granted RPL, students will need to provide evidence that they are already competent in this/these specific unit or units and these evidences must be valid, authentic, current and sufficient.
